"Redbridge Council has always been impressed by the high quality of work provided by The Language Shop. It was their great track record and strong work ethic that prompted us to join the East London Solutions partnership."Cite - Anitha Pillai

From purely commercial beginnings, Jaimin is passionate about public service. His background has seen him through various career choices and ultimately to the world of local government. With over 20 years of translation and interpreting provision now under his belt, it seems he made the right call.
Since taking up his post at the head of the service, Jaimin has brought with him a drive and determination to provide the best quality services to all customers. He works tirelessly to ensure value for money services, whilst continuously exploring innovative ways of delivering language services. Two of his key achievements include leading The Language Shop to win a national customer service award, beating some household names to first place, and pioneering a public sector partnership to cover the whole north east London region. The latter has brought huge cost savings and benefits to service users.
Personally, he is extremely passionate about meeting the needs of the vulnerable communities he serves, promoting high quality and ethical services. Recognising the significant role that the Language Shop interpreters play in delivering these services in sometimes extremely difficult situations.
Aprile joined Newham Council in 1990 as the in-house British Sign Language (BSL) Interpreter. Communicating from a very young age in BSL, it’s fitting that she has led the huge expansion and growth of the Language Shop’s BSL service, which now boasts more than 200 qualified freelancers. Having grown up with a Deaf parent, Aprile has an understanding of the Deaf community that fuels her passion for the job and is an asset to the business. She remains active in her local community, campaigning for equality of access to services.
Appointed Operations Manager of The Language Shop in 2005, Aprile now works with Jaimin to lead the entire service. She loves the job and the diversity of London, which she feels gives them all an insight into the various communities’ needs; staying in touch with those needs has made The Language Shop a unique service.
She may have an all-business approach, but Aprile’s staff team know all about her caring side; with an open door policy and a listening ear, she is always available and willing to listen.
